BEFORE YOU RENT  ||||  MAKING A RESERVATION

REQUIREMENTS / AGE LIMIT

We rent to persons aged 25 and older who have held a drivers license for at least two years. Your license must be clear of moving violations, DUI convictions or similar offenses. An application must be submitted prior to renting a vehicle. The authorized driver and any additional authorized drivers may be subject to a driver record check.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

Additional drivers are welcome and must meet the same requirements as the primary renter. Additional drivers must be present at the time of rental and must sign the rental agreement. The Classics Leasing Company does not charge for additional drivers.

PAYMENT METHODS

VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are all accepted for rental fees and security deposits. Credit cards must be in the renter’s own name. In certain cases, cashier’s checks or cash may be accepted if pre-arranged. Personal & business checks are not accepted. We will place a charge or authorization on your card to cover the cost of the rental and the security deposit. We will process the payment on your return of the vehicle. Renters who do not wish to use a credit card are subject to pre-screening, a process that can take several days.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

All customers must leave a security deposit in the form of a credit card authorization, cashier’s check, or cash. Any damage found on the vehicle upon return, excessive fuel use, traffic infringements, tolls, losses or breakages will be billed against this deposit. The deposit amount is $2,500. If you are using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card, this deposit is run as a charge which is then reversed following the completion of the rental. If you are using an American Express card for the deposit, it is run as an “authorization only” (no actual charge). The deposit will be released following the completion of the rental once we have inspected the car and found it to be free of damage.

INSURANCE

a) The daily rental rate for the vehicle assumes the renter will be responsible for the full value of the car and does not include any insurance coverage;

b) Insurance must be provided through the renter’s own car insurance policy or a third party insurer;

c) Customers must verify that their insurance coverage extends to the rental;

d) The Classics Leasing Company requires the policy number, insurance provider, agent name and phone number when making your reservation in order to verify that all requirements can been met;

e) The Classics Leasing Company requires written proof of liability insurance covering injury to third persons or their property and collision and comprehensive insurance covering any Classics Leasing Company vehicle while rented.

f) In the event of an accident, depending on the amount that your insurance covers, some or all of your deposit may be returned. Any uninsured cost of repairing or replacing the vehicle (in case of wreck or total loss) will be deducted from your deposit. If the repair/replacement cost is greater than the deposit then the renter is liable for the remainder of the repairs. Full payment is expected within 30 days of the bill being received.

TAXES

Prices include Connecticut sales tax of 6.35%.
