No Mileage Charges
The Classics Leasing Company does not charge additional mileage fees. We want you to watch the road, not the odometer!
ROadside assitance
Bookings made through driveshare.com include comprehensive roadside service during the rental period. This roadside assistance is included with every rental at no cost to the renter. Read more about roadside assistance here.
Security Deposit
Bookings made through driveshare.com have a $500 security deposit. Otherwise, the security deposit is $2,500. This is held against any damage caused to the car during your rental period. The deposit is taken as either a hold against your credit card or debit card or a cash deposit.
If a hold is made against your credit it won't be charged. If a hold is made against your debit card, please be aware that the funds may not be released from your bank for several days.
Gas
Vehicles are delivered with a full tank of gas. Please return your car with the gas tank at least three-quarters full. All vehicles must be refueled with premium grade (91+ octane) gasoline.

1. Where is the Classics Leasing Company located?
Now renting from Croton-on-Hudson, New York we were previously located in Stamford, Connecticut.
2. What age do I have to be to hire a car?
You must be at least age 29 to book through turo.com.
3. Can more than one person drive the car?
Yes, and there is no extra charge for one additional driver. We’ll need to see your driving license, proof of address, and insurance documentation for the additional driver. Please note that all drivers must be registered with us; if they are not it is illegal for them to operate the vehicle and the vehicle will not be insured. In such circumstances the primary renter is personally liable for all damages and costs.
4. Is there a mileage limit?
We do not charge mileage rates. We want you to enjoy your trip, not watch the odometer!
5. Where can I take the car?
Normally all use of rental vehicles must occur within 150 miles of Croton-on-Hudson, NY. As a rough guide, this includes eastern Connecticut; north to the Hudson, NY and encompassing the Berkshires; or west to Catskills. If you plan on going further than that, let us know. We'll try to accommodate reasonable requests but logistical restrictions do apply.
6. What methods of payment are accepted?
Bookings can now be made through turo.com. Otherwise, payment can be made through Venmo or PayPal also through MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover for rental fees and security deposits. Credit cards must be in the renter’s own name.
7. What Insurance do I need?
Bookings made through turo.com include insurance options, which are active throughout every rental period, from the time the trip begins and the vehicle is picked up or delivered, to the time it is returned to the owner and the trip is ended.
Otherwise, insurance must be provided through the renter’s own car insurance policy or a third party insurer. Customers must verify that their insurance coverage extends to the rental. The Classics Leasing Company requires the policy number, insurance provider, agent name and phone number in order to verify that all requirements can be met. At this time we are not aware of any coverage that will extend to non-U.S. driver's license or auto-insurance policy holders. We are constantly reviewing this situation but unfortunately it does mean we are unable to offer rentals to most overseas visitors at this time.
8. What’s the Security Deposit for?
In the unfortunate case of an accident or damage to the car, the security deposit will be used to pay for damage repair. We may require an additional sum to cover the uninsured losses if greater than the insurance excess.

11. Are your cars stick shift or automatic transmissions?
Our cars are stick shifts. Customers must be experienced in and fully comfortable with driving stick shift cars.
